The award-winning L'Aperitif restaurant run by brothers
Massimo and Douglas Lisi has been serving authentic Italian food in Stranraer since 1965 when the restaurant was founded by
their late father Natale.
The brothers' welcome, warmth and passion for excellent food has made L'Aperitif
one of the most popular restaurants in south-west Scotland providing the best Italian dining experience this side of Rome.
Douglas's pasta has been voted the UK's best whilst Massimo is an award-winning master cocktail-maker. In November 2011, Douglas was nominated for another prestigious award, that of Dumfries and Galloway's
Chef of the Year, organised by Dumfries and Galloway Life magazine.
At L'Aperitif, the Lisi's
continue to preserve the time-honoured family traditions of freshly-made Italian food just like their father used to make,
dishes such as Saltimbocca alla Romana; fresh scampi in tempura batter, pan-fried cod in smoked parma ham with prawns and
broccoli or the irresistible fresh lobster ravioli.
With an authentic menu and Italian atmosphere, an evening at
L'Aperitif is as close as you can get to dining out in any of Rome's finest restaurants without leaving Scotland!
